School Clerk 37 hours per week Grade 3 SCP 7-12 (£26,403 - £28,598) FTE
Responsibilities- Management of information received in the office
- Building positive relationships with parents and supporting with welfare issues, including attendance
- Making welfare checks for families
- Managing manual and computerised record/information systems (SIMs)
- Undertaking complex financial administration procedures
- Liaising with parents and carers regarding balances for payments and any relevant welfare issues
- Preparing and distributing attendance lists for school activities and support with attendance matters
- Maintenance of class registers
- Calculating charges for activities and supporting the booking of these
- Welcoming and escorting visitors to their destination
- Acting as the immediate point of contact with parents and visitors to the school
- Managing the cashless system
- Responding to emails within the designated 24-hour time
- Ensuring telephone calls are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner
- Control of all incoming and outgoing mail
- Entering pupil information and data onto relevant systems
- Control of the school’s communication and messaging systems
- Management of school stationery and ordering resources
- Providing administrative assistance for school events
- Responding to ad hoc requests from staff for reports and assistance
- Assisting with the role of fire warden
- Maintaining efficient filing of information in hard or electronic copy
- Updating the school calendar / diary
- Assisting with organising transport, including visits
- Assisting in the management of staff absences and cover
- Ensuring the school entrance and office are kept tidy and welcoming
- Assisting with first aid as required
- Carry out appropriate duties as required by the Head
You will be required to provide evidence of all qualifications specified as essential. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
