This is a full-time, on-site Bar and Hospitality Manager role based at Merthyr Town Football Club in Merthyr Tydfil. The Bar and Hospitality Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of all bar, function, and hospitality areas, ensuring a high standard of customer service on matchdays and for all events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing staff rotas, leading and training bar and hospitality teams.
  • Monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and controlling wastage.
  • Coordinating with events staff to deliver weddings, parties, hospitality days, and corporate functions.
  • Ensuring rooms are set up correctly and service runs smoothly from set-up to close.
  • Handling cashing-up and basic financial reporting related to bar operations.
  • Maintaining licensing and health and safety standards.
  • Working some evenings, weekends, and matchdays as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong bar and hospitality operations skills, including stock management, cash handling, and overseeing busy service periods.
  • Experience in team leadership and people management, including training, scheduling, and performance management of bar and hospitality staff.
  • Proven ability in event and function coordination, ideally across weddings, parties, and corporate hospitality.
  • Knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and licensing regulations within a bar or venue environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional and welcoming approach to guests, clients, and club stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing event requirements.
  • Previous experience in a stadium, sports club, hotel, or large hospitality venue is highly desirable.
  • Basic IT and administrative skills for handling bookings, reporting, and coordination with the club’s events and sponsorship teams.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with match and event schedules.
