We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our Community Nursing Team. Do you have a passion for delivering outstanding patient care that brings the 6 C’s (Care, Compassion, Commitment, Courage, Communication and Competence) to life? If so, we want to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • To establish, maintain and develop professional working relationships with colleagues.
  • Follow all agreed Quality Assurance Mechanisms and contribute to the establishment and development of a quality service.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures including standing financial instructions and orders.
  • Participate in the Trust’s Development Review Appraisal process and, with line management, set objectives and development plans.
  • Ensure patient safety and comply with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Comply with the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Adopt a flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Contribute to health promotion strategies internally and externally.
  • Implement safeguarding responsibilities for children, young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Take responsibility for controlling healthcare‑associated infections (HCAIs) and follow Infection Control Policies.
  • Manage clinical tasks: assess, plan, deliver nursing care, interpret assessments, administer medicines, maintain accurate records.
  • Provide teaching and training to junior staff, supervise preceptors, mentor students.
  • Participate in research and audit programmes.
  • Act as preceptor or mentor to new staff and support their competencies.

Qualifications

  • 1st Level Registered Nurse (degree/diploma)
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge and Experience

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of NMC professional standards for practice contained within the code
  • Experience of working in a clinical environment
  • Understanding of requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
  • Experience of working within a multi‑disciplinary team
  • An understanding of national, regional and local NHS issues
  • Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Effectively prioritise and co‑ordinate own workload
  • Ability to de-escalate complex situations
  • Awareness of the need for confidentiality at all times
  • Computer literacy, e.g. experience of electronic patient record
