Specialist Physiotherapist in Knowsley

A full-time post for an experienced Physiotherapist with an interest in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Urology and Colorectal conditions. The post provides a highly skilled and specialised physiotherapy service in a predominantly outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include treating women and men with bladder, bowel, and pelvic floor disorders and providing an obstetric service, including classes. Applicants must be chartered members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, registered with HCPC, and have at least 2 years post‑graduate NHS experience as a Physiotherapist. Appropriate CPD activity must be demonstrated.

Main duties of the job:

• Deliver a high standard of evidence‑based care
• Carry out complex holistic assessments
• Make prompt clinically reasoned decisions
• Participate in the discharge planning process
• Supervise staff within the team and students on placement
• Have a minimum of 2 years post‑graduate experience
• Have evidence of post‑graduate training
• Work flexibly and adapt to changing working patterns as required
• Have a working knowledge of a broad range of conditions with proven clinical skills in this specialist area

Qualifications:

• Degree in Physiotherapy
• HCPC registration
• Clinical Educators Certificate

Experience:

• Advanced clinical knowledge relevant to the current environment and evidence of evidence‑based practice in a relevant health setting
• Awareness of own strengths and limitations
• Knowledge of relevant national policies, guidance and assessment tools
• Experience of line managing a team including setting objectives, conducting appraisals and effective delegation and coordination
• Evidence of effective working within an MDT
• Experience of service development
• Demonstrated experience of problem‑solving approaches
• Audit and research in a clinical area

Skills:

• Demonstrates ability to motivate team performance to achieve objectives
• Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings
• Accurate record keeping, report writing and IT skills including presentation skills
• Have a flexible approach to working with good time management

Other:

• Ability to travel to various hospital locations
