- The post holder will promote the programme to pregnant women to improve the uptake of vaccines in pregnancy and will run daily planned clinics and ad hoc clinics to deliver flu, pertussis and RSV vaccines.
Our ideal candidate is confident with clinical records systems, skilled in discussing the benefits of vaccinations in pregnancy and efficient in delivering these in a fast‑paced environment. Due to the short term nature of the role, the successful candidate must have existing right to work in the UK at the time of application; candidates who do not hold an existing right to live and work in the UK will not progress through shortlisting.
Main duties of the job:
- Contribute to the delivery of a high‑quality antenatal immunisation service to pregnant women to increase uptake of influenza, pertussis, RSV and other necessary immunisations.
- Support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the antenatal immunisation programme delivery.
- Provide advice and information about immunisation to educate staff, antenatal women and other stakeholders.
- Take a woman‑centred and public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities.
- Maintain and update electronic records.

Person specification:
Qualifications:- Current NMC Registration
- Evidence of CPD including vaccine training, basic life support, anaphylaxis management
- Experience in administration of vaccination/IM medication
- Experience in administration onto vaccination systems / maternity
- Previous experience of working in clinical settings
- Aware of health and safety issues within the maternity unit
- Aware of role within Public Health domain
- Knowledge to use specialist equipment required for the role: resuscitation / anaphylaxis
- Understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection
- Experience in data collection for reporting
- Involvement with the immunisation programme
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with good interpersonal skills
- Able to work as part of a team and actively participate in team meetings
- Able to maintain and record accurate documentation
- Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Able to manage and prioritise own workload
- Able to work according to protocols under clinical supervision
