About the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership
The Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership is committed to creating violence-free communities across Merseyside by supporting better life choices for young people and their families.
We bring together subject leads, experts, public sector partners, and communities to address the underlying causes of violence and prevent it before it occurs. Using a public health approach, we focus on positive, early intervention supporting children, young people, and families from before birth through to young adulthood.
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Young Futures Prevention Panel (YFPP) Coordinator to lead and coordinate all YFPP multi-agency meetings on behalf of the MVRP. This role also supports the design, delivery and governance of wider MVRP programmes and Home Office directives focused on preventing serious violence. You will play a vital role in strengthening multi-agency collaboration, driving community engagement, and ensuring that programmes align with local and national strategic priorities to improve outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and chair all Young Futures Prevention Panel multi-agency meetings.
- Oversee the design, delivery, and governance of key MVRP programmes and Home Office initiatives.
- Facilitate strong partnership working across agencies to prevent serious violence.
- Ensure alignment between programme activity and local/national priorities.
- Support partners in developing effective risk management plans for children and young people.
- Provide clear, balanced, and evidence-based information to support safeguarding decisions.
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Degree or relevant qualification or at least three years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Child Protection, Vulnerable Adults, Domestic Abuse processes and best practice.
- Understanding of Authorised Professional Practice (APP) on Information Management, including MOPI, the Data Protection Act, and Freedom of Information Act.
- Knowledge of the Public Health Approach to serious violence.
- Working knowledge of The Care Act 2014, Working Together 2018, Social Care Levels of Need.
Experience Required
- Demonstrable experience chairing multi-agency processes involving professionals, parents, or children.
- Proven ability to present clear, unbiased information differentiating fact from opinion.
- Experience working in high-demand, high-risk environments.
- Strong record of identifying key information and enabling timely, appropriate risk management responses.
- Experience developing multi-agency risk management plans for safeguarding children and young people.
- Experience in public sector finance, grant management, or similar is desirable.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce concise, accurate reports.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing a high workload.
- Skilled in chairing multi-agency meetings and managing the expectations of diverse partners.
- Ability to apply risk-management approaches and innovate when faced with resource limitations or complex needs.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Willingness to engage in required online learning platforms (e.g., NCALT, Breeze, Virtual Training Library).
