MCC Jewellery, Birkenhead Market is seeking a confident and results-driven Sales Associate with proven selling skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging customers, building rapport quickly, and confidently closing sales. Strong sales ability is essential for success in this role.

This position requires effective communication skills, social media skills, and technical skills. Your focus will be towards jewellery and collectable sales, alongside contributing to creating a welcoming environment for all customers in store, dealing in buying and selling of jewellery, bullion, coins, etc., and helping create engaging content for social media and managing the website.

We would offer a lucrative commission for each instant jewellery sale, subject to probation terms.

Duties:
  • Greet customers as they enter the shop and provide assistance as needed.
  • Maintain an organised and tidy shop environment, ensuring products are well-displayed.
  • Assist customers with product inquiries and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
  • Process transactions accurately at the till, handling cash and card payments.
  • Label and restock shelves and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability.
  • Data input and barcoding for shop items on our system.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner.
  • Support promotional activities and assist in setting up displays for special events.
  • Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Develop strategies to grow the social media following of the brand.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Basic knowledge and interest in jewellery, precious metals, coins, etc.
  • Confidence and high energy when engaging with customers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently when required.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanour, with a passion for helping others.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends if necessary.
  • The ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • The ability to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device.
  • Knowledge and use of social media platforms.
  • Be able to generate new content ideas.

Training regarding knowledge of jewellery and collectable items will be provided on the job. Start time would be immediately. This is a part-time position, with the opportunity to progress to a full-time role for the right candidate based on performance.
