A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Loss Prevention Department at Merseyrail Electrics. You will work alongside a fellow Loss Prevention Support Officer as well as the Department Manager, whilst also engaging with the Revenue Protection team and the wider business. It is essential that you possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as this role involves not only communicating with internal employees of ME but also external bodies including British Transport Police and Court Services as well as speaking with passengers via telephone.

The successful candidate must be confident in using different IT packages to gather, interpret and feed out information, as well as a keen eye for detail. As an individual you will need to be KPI orientated and understand the importance of maximising every opportunity that arises to succeed in reaching departmental objectives. Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will need to be a self-assured individual who can remain calm at all times when faced with tight timeframes.

Support with all aspects of back-office administration connected to the issuances made by Revenue Protection officers. Maintaining databases in relation to prosecutions and payment recovery management. Resolving customer queries via inbound telephone calls and email.

Your Day-To-Do

  • Management of Issuance within the back-office system, ensuring that any unpaid issuances are moved forward as required.
  • Ensure all files are updated within GDPR compliance guidelines.
  • Responsible for maintaining department stationary stock.
  • Ensuring all appropriate letters are printed and posted as required.
  • Collection of incoming post.
  • Resolving 1st stage customer queries and taking payments via telephone calls, email, and handwritten mail.
  • Responsible for weekly Single Justice Procedure packs being packed and sent out via 1st class post.
  • Responsible for ensuring any postal orders are submitted to the finance department as required.
  • Work alongside the Revenue Protection Team to ensure a joined-up approach is maintained between front-end issuance and back-end application.
  • Completion of relevant feedback for issuing officers and the sending of a weekly spreadsheet to the appropriate managers.
  • Supporting the Revenue Protection Department as and when required for special events.
  • Supporting the Loss Prevention Manager with moving the department forward and achieving relevant KPI’s.
  • Requesting and viewing body-worn footage (in line with agreed process).
