The predicted salary is between 33000 - 41000 £ per year.

About The Role

£41,410 per annum (inclusive of allowances)

Breakdown of salary components:

  • Basic salary: £32,574 per annum
  • Call out cover: £5,319 per annum
  • Retention allowance: £3,063 annually
  • Tool allowance: £454 per annum

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.00 – 16.15 hours and Friday 8.00 – 13.00 hours.

Our HGV Vehicle Fitters are required to participate in an out of hours call out scheme, currently on a 1 week in 6 basis. Overtime payments will be made for all hours worked outside normal working hours.

Location: Engineering Centre, Vesty Road, Bootle, L30 1NY

We are recruiting HGV Vehicle Fitters to work at our modern and state-of-the-art vehicle workshops at Vesty Road, Bootle, Merseyside. The Workshop department maintains a high-quality fleet, including fire appliances, ancillary, special vehicles, and other specialist plant/equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency for fire service operations.

Responsibilities include carrying out repairs, inspections, servicing, and modifications on our fleet of Scania Fire Appliances and ancillary vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Vehicle Fitter with City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3
  • Experience in an HGV vehicle transport workshop
  • Ability to complete HGV vehicle inspections to DVSA standards
