This role is ideally suited to an Event Medical Responder looking to gain experience across a variety of event environments, from community gatherings to large-scale public events. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing frontline medical support in both routine and emergency situations. You will apply your training in fast-paced, real-world settings, delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills, patient assessment abilities, and confidence in managing a diverse range of presentations while working within your scope of practice and under established clinical governance.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Event Medical Responder, you will provide immediate care to patients presenting with injuries or illness at events, ensuring treatment is delivered in line with Mersey Medical policies, procedures, and current clinical guidelines. You will respond to a range of situations, from minor first aid cases to urgent medical incidents, always prioritising patient safety and wellbeing.
You will be responsible for accurately completing patient care records and incident documentation, while maintaining clear and professional communication with patients, event staff, colleagues, and other emergency services when required. Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times is essential.
In this role, you will develop your ability to assess patient needs holistically, including recognising safeguarding concerns or environmental risks and escalating these appropriately. You will uphold high standards of infection prevention and control, ensuring all equipment, treatment areas, and vehicles are clean, safe, and ready for use.
You will carry out routine checks of medical equipment and supplies to ensure operational readiness throughout events and report any issues in line with company procedures. You may also support the safe movement of patients, including assisting with transfers to ambulances or other healthcare services where appropriate.
Working as part of a team, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and effective medical presence on-site. You will take on responsibilities appropriate to your level of experience, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a proactive approach to patient care.
A key aspect of the role is ongoing professional development. You will be encouraged to engage in continuous learning, maintain relevant certifications, and build your confidence and competence as an Event Medical Responder in a variety of settings.
