An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 nurse to support the Clinical Team Manager and Clinical Leadership Team to deliver high quality, safe and effective care. This is a demanding and challenging role where, as a successful candidate, you will be required to demonstrate high levels of resilience, excellent problem‑solving and inter‑personal skills, as well as the ability to provide sound clinical and managerial support to team members. The post holder will also demonstrate a passion for coaching and a leadership style that fosters quality improvement. You will respect and value service users’ choice, working alongside them and their carers to ensure they are at the centre of care planning. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and involves supporting the Clinical Team Manager in carrying continuing professional and managerial responsibility for the ward. The post holder will operate as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, undertaking a balance of managerial and clinical activity to ensure continuity of care for service users on their journey through the acute service.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Clinical Team Manager in managerial and clinical duties for the ward.
- Provide integrated care pathways, including appropriate service‑user assessments, referrals and models of care.
- Offer information, education and support for family members, carers and other professionals.
- Give and receive regular managerial/clinical supervision in line with Trust policy.
- Ensure record keeping meets Professional and Trust standards.
- Safely manage medicines, adhering to safe practice and the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Medicines Code.
- Collaborate professionally with the multidisciplinary team and promote positive intra‑agency working.
- Assist in setting and maintaining standards of service‑user care based on sound research findings.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with Band 6 experience.
- Strong clinical and managerial experience in an acute setting.
- Evidence of coaching/leadership skills and commitment to quality improvement.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Adherence to Professional and Trust standards, including DBS checking.
