The Role
Mersen UK Teesside is currently recruiting for two experienced CNC Machine Operators to join our busy Teesside Graphite Speciality (TGS) department. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global company with development opportunities available. As a CNC Machine Operator you will be expected to work to specifications and tooling instructions, applying knowledge of machining methods and reading drawings and routings for product specifications.
Main duties of the role include:
- To use CNC control, selecting speed and feeding of the machine according to the type of operation.
- 3 axis CNC vertical mill with 4th axis integration.
- High Speed CNC Vertical Milling (42,000rpm(30m/min))
- Large 4th Axis Integrated CNC Mill up to 2.6m
- 2 axis up to 5 axis CNC Lathes
- Most of the programs are generated off-line.
- To produce specifications according to engineered drawings.
- To ensure equipment maintenance on the shop floor.
- To look for improvement measures i.e. KAIZEN to help reduce waste (7W) whilst respecting production time.
- To work in accordance with safety instructions thanks to housecleaning and 6S.
Person Specification
It’s essential that applicants have programming/setting skills in FANUC or HURCO control. It would be desirable if candidates had experience in a graphite environment but is not a mandatory requirement; training will be given in the strategies used to cut that material to the ideal candidate. Candidates must be educated to at least GCSE level (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Mathematics or hold relevant equivalent qualifications.
