The Role: Mersen UK Teesside are currently recruiting for two experienced CNC Machine Operators to join our busy Teesside Graphite Speciality (TGS) department. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global company with development opportunities available. As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be expected to work to specifications and tooling instructions, applying knowledge of machining methods. Further, you will be expected to read drawings and routings for product specifications.
Main duties of the role include:
- Operate CNC control, selecting speed and feed according to the operation type.
- Work on a 3-axis CNC vertical mill with 4th axis integration.
- Perform high-speed CNC vertical milling (up to 42,000 rpm).
- Operate a large 4th axis integrated CNC mill up to 2.6 m.
- Operate 2- to 5-axis CNC lathes.
- Generate most programs off-line.
- Produce parts according to engineered drawings.
- Ensure equipment maintenance on the shop floor.
- Seek improvement measures, e.g., Kaizen, to reduce waste while respecting production time.
- Adhere to safety instructions, housekeeping and 6S practices.
Person Specification:
- Programming/setting skills in FANUC or HURCO control.
- Desirable experience in a graphite environment (training provided if required).
- Minimum education of GCSE level (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
