Merrylee Dental Practice is a friendly, well-established dental practice located in the Southside of Glasgow. We provide high-quality NHS and private dental care to our local community in a modern, welcoming environment. Our close-knit team prides itself on excellent patient care and a supportive working atmosphere.
We are looking for a qualified and GDC-registered Dental Nurse to join our team. You will work chairside with our dentists, supporting a full range of general and cosmetic dentistry, while helping to ensure every patient has a comfortable and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities- Providing chairside assistance to dentists during examinations and treatments
- Preparing and maintaining the clinical environment, including decontamination and sterilisation of instruments in line with current cross-infection control standards
- Ensuring compliance with HIQA/Scottish infection prevention guidance and practice protocols
- Charting, record keeping and updating patient notes accurately
- Taking and processing dental radiographs (if qualified) in line with IRMER regulations
- Reassuring and supporting patients before, during and after treatment
- Managing stock levels and ordering dental supplies
- Supporting reception duties as required, including booking appointments and handling patient queries
- Maintaining patient confidentiality in line with GDPR
- Registered with the General Dental Council (GDC)
- Recognised dental nursing qualification (e.g. National Diploma in Dental Nursing / NEBDN or SVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing)
- Valid indemnity insurance and hepatitis B vaccination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- A caring, professional and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work well within a team
- Post-qualification experience in general practice
- Dental radiography certificate
- Experience with dental practice management software (e.g. SOE/Exact, Dentally or R4)
- Additional qualifications such as impression taking, fluoride application or oral health education
