Merrifield Consultants is looking for a Trusts Fundraising Manager for a Health charity to secure income from a portfolio of warm and cold trust and statutory funders, mainly at a 5-figure level. This role will support the overall success of the Trusts & Statutory team and the wider Philanthropy & Partnerships team by leading on their strategic projects.

Salary: £40,000 - £44,000

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Location: London, 2 days per week in the office

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of warm and cold funders (£10k-£100k).
  • Identify new prospects, plan approaches and write proposals and reports.
  • Achieve excellent donor relationships through a donor-centred philosophy and systematic planning.
  • Review our existing ‘small trust mailing’ and deliver a revised, streamlined version that maximises value and reduces the time spent delivering it (eg proposals sent twice a year rather than monthly).
  • With support from the Head of Trusts & Statutory, lead a set of agreed strategic projects for the Trusts & Statutory team.
  • Create and maintain an up-to-date case for support on a key area of our work.
  • As the team expert on the area, this role will support other colleagues (in Trusts & Statutory and the wider Philanthropy & Partnerships team) with fundraising for this area/project.
  • Support the wider development of innovative and evidence-based projects and cases for support, for the benefit of the whole Philanthropy & Partnerships team.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience securing grants (£20k+) from warm and cold trust/statutory funders.
  • Experience identifying and cultivating cold prospects.
  • Experience developing and managing relationships with trust/statutory donors.
  • Knowledge of best practice with regards to Fundraising Code, Data Protection and risk management.
  • Knowledge of GDPR/data protection principles and how they apply to trust/statutory fundraising.
