Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity, is currently recruiting new Trustees to join their Board. This is an exciting opportunity to support a charity that uses the power of music to connect with and transform the lives of people facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.

Every day, Nordoff and Robbins’ trained music therapists work with individuals who are isolated, traumatised or living with serious illness or disability. Their work is often life-changing – helping people like Ruby, a teenager whose life was saved through music therapy during a mental health crisis; Patsy, a young child who spoke her first words in a therapy session; and Ed, who relearned how to walk and talk after a life-threatening accident.

With a new strategy in place, Nordoff and Robbins is focused on embedding music therapy as an integral part of health and social care. They are committed to working across the wider music-for-health ecosystem to ensure that music is recognised as a powerful tool for wellbeing.

To help deliver on this ambitious vision, they are seeking individuals with experience in the following areas to join their Board of Trustees:

  • NHS and health commissioning
  • People and culture / HR
  • Philanthropy and fundraising
  • Education and academic research
  • Legal and property
  • The wider music ecosystem

They are particularly keen to hear from people who bring diversity of background, experience and thought, and who share their passion for making music therapy accessible to all who need it.

As a Trustee, you’ll join a committed and collaborative Board that plays a vital role in shaping the future of this unique and impactful charity. This is a chance to bring your expertise to a cause that not only saves lives – but helps people live fuller, more connected ones.
