Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with Barts Charity, a leading healthcare charity dedicated to improving health outcomes across East London and beyond. We are supporting them in the recruitment of a newly created Executive Assistant & Directorate Administrator role within their Fundraising & Communications Directorate.

Summary of the role

This is a central coordination role providing high‑quality executive support to the Director of Fundraising & Communications, while ensuring smooth support across a busy, fast‑paced directorate. You’ll blend EA support and event/meeting organisation to keep priorities moving. Ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys variety and excels at keeping people and processes aligned.

Details of the role

  • Salary: £36,000-£40,000 per annum
  • Contract: 12‑month FTC
  • Location: Farringdon
  • Hybrid working: 2 days in the office (Tuesdays & Wednesdays), 3 days from home
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, core hours 10am-4pm
  • Department: Fundraising & Communications
  • Reports to: Head of Fundraising Operations, with daily support to the Director of Fundraising & Communications

Responsibilities

  • Executive support to the Director, including diary management, meeting preparation, minutes, inbox coordination and workflow tracking
  • Directorate coordination, ensuring planning cycles, reporting processes and team meetings run smoothly
  • Maintaining accurate shared systems, trackers and documentation
  • Supporting prospecting and stewardship activity across fundraising teams
  • Coordinating internal events, workshops and team sessions
  • Providing administrative support
  • Acting as a central point of contact across fundraising, communications, and hospital partners

About you

  • Strong organisation and time‑management skills
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
  • High level of attention to detail and professionalism
  • Strong relationship‑building skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, Teams and shared systems

Essential

  • Experience supporting a senior leader (diary, meetings, admin)
  • Experience in team administration or coordination roles
  • Experience organising meetings, events or engagement activity
  • Experience working across multiple teams in a complex organisation
