Merrifield Consultants are proud to partner with a Youth Support Charity to find their Media, PR & Digital Manager. You will be at the heart of delivering high-quality media coverage, managing digital communications, and driving brand presence across web and social media platforms. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone passionate about youth development, ready to make a meaningful difference while leading on strategy, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.

Reporting into: Head of Communications

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Location: Lambeth, two days a week in the office

Role responsibilities:

  • Media & Public Relations: Proactively explore national and regional opportunities for media coverage, establishing effective media links to raise the profile of the organisation. Lead and coordinate integrated media campaigns alongside digital marketing efforts for maximum impact and coverage. Support communication with internal and external stakeholders on sensitive media matters. Identify and support on new media opportunities.
  • Marketing & Digital Communications: Manage and coordinate the use of digital channels, including intranets, websites and social media. Lead the development and support of the DAMS (Marketing Hub) to facilitate effective brand and campaign management. Contribute to the production of high-quality, on-brand marketing materials, ensuring they meet deadlines and engage target audiences. Assist with website development and paid digital marketing campaigns. Develop and maintain social media channels and other digital platforms.

Skills and experience:

  • Degree graduate or equivalent and experience in a communications environment.
  • Experience of working with journalists.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining good working relations with journalists and media specialists.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with good attention to detail.
  • Understanding of principles of media, PR, social media and communications.
  • Some experience of crisis management and media handling.
  • Experience of working with teams and stakeholders.
  • Initiating and planning media and social media campaigns: defining goals, analysing problems and opportunities and liaising with management and clients.
  • Experience of advising senior managers on high profile media matters.
  • Strong news sense and experience of dealing with the media.
  • Good creative sense and ability to translate organisational needs.
  • Ability to work by and to objectives to ensure that materials produced reflect the objectives and principles agreed by the organisation.
  • Knowledge and ability to plan structured media campaigns including monitoring and evaluation.
  • Knowledge and competence in Microsoft Office applications.
