Merrifield Consultants is delighted to be working with an international humanitarian charity to recruit a Senior Individual Giving Manager. The charity has increased its Individual Giving income considerably in recent years and is now investing in further growth. This role will take responsibility for the Individual Giving programme, with a particular focus on recruiting regular donors, improving supporter retention and making sound decisions about where to invest. You will manage the Individual Giving team and work closely with Communications colleagues to plan campaigns, develop digital fundraising and turn public engagement into lasting financial support.
Responsibilities
- Set and deliver a multiyear Individual Giving strategy focused on sustainable income growth.
- Grow the Regular Giving programme through digital acquisition, face to face fundraising, telemarketing and other direct marketing activity.
- Improve welcome, conversion, reactivation and stewardship journeys to increase retention and donor value.
- Oversee cash appeals and the continued development of mid value and legacy fundraising.
- Manage a substantial seven figure budget, reforecast income and expenditure, and assess campaign performance against return on investment.
- Lead and develop the Individual Giving team, manage agency relationships and report clearly to senior colleagues.
- Work closely with Communications and digital colleagues on integrated campaigns and supporter mobilisation.
About You
You will have substantial Individual Giving experience and a record of increasing income or growing a donor base. You should have:
- Experience of donor acquisition and retention across digital and direct marketing channels.
- A clear understanding of Regular Giving, supporter journeys and lifetime value.
- Strong budget management and forecasting skills, including experience of assessing return on investment.
- Experience of managing staff, agencies and suppliers.
- The confidence to make strategic decisions while remaining involved in campaign delivery.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with Communications, digital and data colleagues.
- Working knowledge of relevant fundraising regulation and data protection requirements.
Experience of international or humanitarian fundraising would be useful but is not essential. The charity is looking for someone with strong Individual Giving foundations, sound judgement and the ambition to build on an established programme.
The organisation offers flexible working hours, a generous employer pension contribution, private medical insurance and a health cashback scheme.
We practice a diverse and inclusive recruitment process that ensures equal opportunity for all we work with, irrespective of race, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age or gender. As an organisation, we encourage applications from all backgrounds and will ensure measures are met when required, to allow a fair process throughout.
