Merrifield Consultants is delighted to be working with a leading education membership organisation to recruit a Policy Officer on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for an education professional with policy or research experience to contribute to work shaping early years and primary education policy.
Reporting to the Senior Policy Manager, you'll support policy development and research in relation to primary and early years education, preparing briefings, policy statements, and consultation responses. You'll work across teams including campaigns, communications, and organising functions, while building relationships with external stakeholders and campaign groups. This role offers the chance to influence education policy and ensure members' professional expertise informs the organisation's work.
Role: Policy Officer - Early Years and Primary Education
Hourly Rate: Β£25.50 per hour
Contract: Temporary (2-3 months, with potential to go permanent for the right person)
Location: Kings Cross, London
Working Pattern: 2-3 days per week in the office
Start Date: ASAP
The Role:
You'll support policy development on primary and early years education, preparing briefings, policy statements and consultation responses. You'll work across teams including campaigns and communications, building relationships with external stakeholders and campaign groups.

- Background in education either as a teacher or in a policy/research role
- Policy or research experience on early years and primary education
