Merrifield Consultants is recruiting a Grants Accountant for a national charity.
This is a hands-on role managing the financial side of the charity's grant funding, working closely with both the finance and fundraising teams.
The role will involve
- Preparing budgets and financial information for grant applications.
- Monitoring grant expenditure against agreed budgets.
- Managing restricted funds and ensuring income and expenditure are recorded correctly.
- Preparing financial reports and claims for funders.
- Supporting month-end reconciliations and audit requirements.
- Ensuring grant expenditure meets funder requirements and Charity SORP.
- Supporting a procurement project where required.
We are looking for someone with
- Experience of grants accounting within a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant status, such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
- Experience of preparing grant budgets and donor financial reports.
- A good understanding of restricted funds and grant compliance.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience of Sage Intacct would be helpful but is not essential.
- Procurement experience would be useful but is not required.
