Merrick is looking to appoint an experienced Architect to join our team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Capable of developing design concepts and translating them into all phases of the project that align with client goals and project requirements.
- Ability to effectively manage a team of staff and consultants to execute project design and deliverables.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager, lead design charrettes to establish and obtain design project requirements.
- Assist in research on building codes, materials, and systems to support design decisions under supervision.
- Assist in construction administration in processing RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, and assist in site visits to observe and document progress and site conditions.
Prepare field reports and track changes in construction.
- Lead internal design reviews.
- Ensures design intent and project quality are maintained.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of four (4) years' experience .
- Chartered Architect
- RIBA, ARB or equivalent registered Architect with experience of working within the UK Building Regulations
- 4-year Bachelor of Science/Arts in Architecture degree
- Candidate shall have a working knowledge of current building codes and contemporary methods of heavy commercial, institutional, and industrial construction.
Knowledge of laboratory codes and international design standards is an advantage.
- Candidate shall be knowledgeable of all aspects of general architectural practice including planning, programming, schematic design, production of construction documents (drawings and specifications), and construction administration.
- Laboratory design experience and construction knowledge is an advantage.
- Candidate shall be knowledgeable in the capabilities of BIM software.
- Candidate shall be proficient in the use of REVIT and Auto CAD.
- Ability to visually present and clearly communicate results according to project phases
- Creative, team-oriented, with a fast grasp of complex topics and the ability to distill key information
- Strong customer focus, ability to inspire, and confident stakeholder management, including leadership skills in client interactions
Clients for this position require UK citizenship .
