About us The Mermaid Inn Limited has been in the hands of the same owners for 32 years and has been open for 600 years. This busy Inn has 31 Bedrooms, a 2 AA Rosette Restaurant, a Bar with outside areas, and a Function Room. The Mermaid has a record of supporting the development of many chefs and offers candidates an opportunity to develop their career.
The role of a sous chef is a challenging and fulfilling one, where no two days are the same. As a sous chef, you'll be the partner of the head chef. You'll oversee the kitchen in the chef's absence, meet high standards of food hygiene and professionalism, and train your team to learn new cooking techniques. You'll also deal with suppliers and handle paperwork, such as ordering and invoicing. You will be involved in menu planning as well.
Accommodation is available in a Staff House.
