We are recruiting for a Global Indirect Tax Accountant to join our awesome Group Tax Team! As a Global Indirect Tax Accountant, you will sit at the heart of a truly international tax team, partnering across regions to ensure indirect tax and customs compliance while unlocking value for the business. Reporting to the Global Head of Indirect Tax, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping how indirect tax operates across a complex, multinational environment.
You will balance technical excellence with commercial insight, overseeing compliance, advising stakeholders on transactions and projects, and supporting strategic initiatives such as M&A, restructurings and system implementations. You will also help strengthen governance, reduce risk and drive smarter, more efficient processes, including automation and better use of tax technology.
This is a role for someone who enjoys collaborating across finance, operations and IT, building trusted relationships, and translating complex tax rules into clear, practical guidance that supports business growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised accounting and/or tax qualification (e.g. CTA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong experience in indirect tax and customs compliance, ideally within a multinational organisation
- Solid technical knowledge of indirect tax, particularly UK and European VAT and/or US sales and use tax, with exposure to other jurisdictions advantageous
- Experience reviewing VAT returns, managing compliance obligations and dealing with tax authorities
- Background in advisory support for business projects, transactions or tax controversy
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements, risk controls and governance frameworks
- Experience with ERP and tax technology systems (NetSuite preferred), alongside strong MS Office skills; Alteryx experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to partner effectively across regions and functions
- Highly organised, analytical and able to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
