Merlin Power is a leading supplier of electrical power products and systems serving the marine, specialist vehicle, and defence industries. With over 35 years in business, our systems have been fitted to everything from Formula 1 Trucks to front-line Main Battle Tanks, as well as surveillance vehicles to yachts.
We are looking for a dynamic Technical Sales Executive to join our small but ambitious team, focusing on Vehicle OEMs and Fleet Operators across the North of England.
About You
- You will be a self-starting hunter with a strong track record of success in the Power Management/Vehicle Fleet sales sector.
- You will have excellent listening and communication skills.
- You will drive success with your customers with a good technical ability and by utilising other team members where necessary.
- You will be a natural communicator with good relationship-building skills.
- You will be adaptable and eager to learn in a new market, and adopt a process of continuous improvement.
- You will have a Full UK Driving licence and be willing to travel across the UK as necessary.
The Role
- New Business Development and Account Management
- Prospect, identify, qualify and build new business in Merlin’s target markets.
- Understand client needs and tailor solutions to win their business with solutions that build trust and repeat business.
- Nurture and grow existing accounts through proactive relationship management, identifying opportunities for growth.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions of sales agreements to maximise profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular account calls and visits to maintain strong client relationships.
- Build your knowledge of power systems and products to a level that addresses client queries, becoming self-sufficient for first call and follow-up.
- Provide the Sales Director with regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates, highlighting achievements, challenges, and action plans.
- Participate in planning, executing, and following up on Merlin sales strategies.
- Meticulously record all activities in Merlin’s central CRM system.
