We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior SEO Manager UK & EU to join our Digital Marketing team. The Senior SEO Manager will be responsible for leading and executing SEO strategies that drive organic traffic, increase visibility, and improve the user experience across Merlin Entertainments\’ portfolio of attractions in the UK & EU.
This is a key role that will require collaboration with multiple teams, strong analytical skills, and the ability to stay ahead of industry trends and search engine algorithm changes.
This role is flexible on location in the UK & Europe, provided you are a commutable distance to one of our attractions or offices.
Main Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management:

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the UK & EU attraction teams and wider digital teams.
  • Act as a strategic partner, understanding stakeholder goals and aligning SEO initiatives to support broader business objectives.
  • Confidently manage expectations and communicate SEO priorities, timelines, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, juggling multiple SEO projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines.

SEO Strategy Execution

  • Support Global Head of SEO to develop and implement strategies driving visibility, traffic, and conversions for Merlin’s UK & EU attractions.
  • Conduct keyword research and optimise on-page/off-page SEO to align with business and brand goals.

SEO Audits & Optimisation

  • Audit technical SEO of websites; feed key requirements into the roadmap to optimise site structure, speed, crawlability, and mobile optimisation.
  • Execute scalable link-building strategy to improve domain authority and search engine rankings.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Regularly monitor SEO performance through tools like Google Analytics and Search Console.
  • Provide SEO performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement A/B testing for SEO elements to enhance rankings and user experience.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including content, PPC, social, and digital to ensure SEO is integrated across all digital initiatives.
  • Collaborate with attraction teams and local marketing leads to tailor SEO strategies that reflect regional priorities and customer behaviours.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication, shared goals, and mutual accountability.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of SEO projects across multiple markets.
  • Work with external agencies to drive SEO initiatives and ensure adherence to best practices.

Innovation

  • Stay updated on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to improve rankings.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and trends.

Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing SEO team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Ensure continuous professional development for team members and contribute to the broader business goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • SEO experience with a proven track record in driving organic search improvements.
  • Proficient in SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and similar platforms.
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge and hands-on experience with on-page and off-page SEO.
  • Expertise in content strategy, link-building, and mobile SEO.
  • Data-driven approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Experience in the travel, leisure, or entertainment industry is a plus.
  • Fluency in English.
