The Head of New Business Development is responsible for spearheading the growth and expansion of the B2B sales function into new markets and sectors. This role requires a visionary leader with a strategic mindset, capable of identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market dynamics, a strong network in relevant industries, and a proven track record of successful business development.
Main Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Tactical Delivery
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve business goals.
- Lead and align direct reports with the company’s strategy.
- Monitor market trends and competitors to identify growth opportunities.
- Balance immediate tactical needs with long-term strategic objectives.
New Business Acquisition
- Secure opportunities in sectors like Loyalty, Gifting, MICE, and international markets.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and clients.
- Negotiate and close high-value deals for sustainable growth.
Lead Generation
- Create and implement strategies to build a robust client pipeline.
- Leverage digital marketing, social media, and networking for leads.
- Track and optimize lead generation performance.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure smooth execution of new business initiatives.
- Align operational processes with business goals.
- Monitor projects to ensure on-time, efficient delivery.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and growing business in relevant sectors.
- Extensive network and relationships within the Loyalty, Gifting, MICE, and international markets.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in market analysis and business intelligence tools.
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with BI tools to drive data-informed decisions.
