Job Title and Basic Information

Position: Keyholder – Kettering

Hours per week: 40

Pay rate: £13.08-£14.08 per hour; night rate £14.08 per hour (23:00-06:00)

About the Role

Keyholder responsible for opening, trading and closing the venue, housekeeping, cash handling, assisting with bingo or catering, monitoring customer behaviour, ensuring health and safety compliance, administration with 100% accuracy, promotions and customer service excellence, and promoting responsible gambling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the opening, trading and closure of the venue in the absence of the Venue Manager/Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure that the venue housekeeping is always of the highest possible standard, regularly cleaning gaming equipment, floors, walls and other surfaces.
  • Issue customers with change as required and control any personal float allocated, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist with bingo, catering or any other duties as required or directed by the Venue/Duty Manager.
  • Payout for machine faults in line with company procedures when authorised by the Venue/Duty Manager.
  • Monitor the actions and behaviour of customers, noting any behaviour considered to be suspicious and/or disruptive, and report this behaviour to the Venue Manager.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, reporting any potential hazards to the Venue Manager.
  • Assist with any administration as required to 100% accuracy.
  • Help ensure that promotions run smoothly and are a success.
  • Ensure that customer service is carried out in line with company standards and results in customer delight.
  • Ensure that customer complaints are brought to the attention of a member of management as quickly as possible.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation ensuring the Company’s dress code is always adhered to.
  • Promote awareness of Responsible Gambling strategies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Flexible and able to work on a rota basis that includes weekends and bank holidays.
  • Capable of working on own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a similar role in retail, hospitality or gambling sector.
  • Keen to learn and progress.
  • Eager to support the training of others.
  • Be a role model for the team.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Industry and compliance training will be given.
