MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS
- Remain up to date on new financial reporting requirements and apply these standards and guidelines using a combination of advanced accounting and technical knowledge.
- Provide expert advice and guidance in relation to any financial regulatory changes.
- Assist with interpreting and implementing new reporting amendments and standards.
- Support and train other accounting team members after new standards, policies and regulations are implemented.
- Notify any potential implications arising from any financial regulatory changes and provide advice and guidance on how to avoid them.
- Create or review the company’s accounting policies and procedures to ensure they are in line with industry practice.
- Improve the company’s policy documentation and procedures to enhance the overall quality of financial accounting and reporting.
- Implement, develop, and continually reappraise financial reporting procedures and internal controls for the purpose of maintaining accurate records.
- Support financial accounting areas to ensure delivery of key deadlines.
- Provide cover and assistance for the Financial Accountant as required.
- Use technical capabilities to assist in preparing annual reports, accounts and any other accounting documentation or papers as required.
- Prepare technical accounting papers for use in audit and by the parent company.
- Be the subject matter expert for accounting enquiries coming from the parent company or from the company’s auditors.
- Collaborate with department heads and other key stakeholders to ensure that the accounting of the company is compliant and functions appropriately.
- Streamline the accounting processes for statutory reporting.
- Ensure that accurate records are maintained; reported correctly; and analysed where required.
- Maintain a good relationship with Gauselmann Group and ensure that the UK Group is adhering to Gauselmann Group International guidelines.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy in all areas of accounting.
- REQUIRED SKILLS
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA) with at least 5 years PQE.
- Technically strong with knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Knowledge of HGB.
- Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Accurate, attentive to detail, with good organisational skills and the ability to follow through on projects.
- Ability to develop positive relationships and work effectively with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work with confidential information on a regular basis.
- Good communication skills, transparency, openness, and respect.
- Ability to solve problems utilising technology, strong skills working with MS Excel and SAP, advanced IT skills
