Our client is a market leader in their sector who are on a significant growth trajectory through organic growth and acquisition. Due to growth, they are looking to build out their risk function and recruit the newly created role of Senior Third Party Risk Manager to design, embed and oversee a robust, end-to-end onboarding and monitoring framework for third parties across the Group. This role will ensure that teams engaging with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors apply consistent and effective Know Your Counterparty (KYCP) due diligence. You will be responsible for developing and continuously enhancing the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Framework, aligning it with the wider enterprise risk management approach to deliver strong, standardised and scalable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Framework Development & Oversight
- Design, embed and maintain the Group’s Third Party Risk & Compliance Management Framework.
- Drive continuous improvement of third-party risk methodologies to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Lead risk assessments for critical third-party arrangements, including due diligence, control testing and remediation planning.
- Oversee ongoing monitoring of third-party relationships, identifying trends, escalating issues and supporting mitigation activities.
- Manage periodic reviews to ensure continued compliance with regulatory, contractual and internal standards.
- Act as the subject-matter lead for key third-party risk areas including Modern Slavery, Ethical Sourcing, AML, Sanctions and Corporate Compliance.
- Ensure third-party risk processes meet regulatory obligations and client commitments.
- Support due diligence requests from clients and evaluate partners for strategic tenders.
- Act as the escalation point for complex or high-risk matters, providing expert guidance and decision-making support.
- Lead or support incident response and remediation activities arising from third-party risk events.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for third-party risk support across the Group.
- Educate and support first-line stakeholders on TPRM responsibilities, promoting ownership and accountability.
- Work closely with procurement, commercial, legal and new business teams to embed risk management into key processes.
- Collaborate with the wider Risk & Compliance function on governance, assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and implement a first-line control testing programme for TPRM.
- Provide independent second-line assurance through reviews, thematic audits and deep-dive assessments.
- Develop dashboards, MI and reporting to provide transparency on third-party risk performance.
- Define and monitor key risk indicators aligned to risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
- Own and manage the Group’s third-party screening tool, ensuring effective and consistent use.
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in risk management, with strong expertise in Third Party Risk Management.
- Proven track record of developing and embedding TPRM frameworks and operating models.
- Strong understanding of regulatory expectations, third-party risk standards and screening tools.
- Experience operating in complex, fast-paced, client-focused environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to simplify complexity and deliver pragmatic solutions.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on delivery and continuous improvement.
Core Competencies
- Degree in Risk Management or a relevant professional qualification (e.g. IRM Diploma).
- Knowledge of recognised risk standards (e.g. ISO 31000, COSO ERM, APM PRAM).
- Experience using TPRM platforms.
- Experience working in global or inter-group environments is advantageous.
