MERJE is seeking a talented Senior Finance Reporting Specialist for a leading wealth management firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious financial institution, contributing to critical financial reporting and control functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge and excellent communication skills.

The Role: As a Senior Finance Reporting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the Financial Control Department, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Reporting and Control. This role is responsible for delivering upon the business’s Financial and Tax reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparation of the Group Financial returns
  • Production of Statutory Financial statements for 3 UK Based entities
  • Preparation of corporation Tax, VAT and other tax filings
  • Submission of IFRS-based regulatory returns to the FCA and BOE
  • Preparation of quarterly FINREP return to the FCA
  • Preparation of the BOE statistical returns
  • Demonstrable experience of Group / Head office reporting, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, UK Taxation reporting, Regulatory reporting, Process improvement
  • Supporting other financial and regulatory reporting requirements as needed
  • Ownership of technical accounting matters and maintaining a strong governance framework over the financial reporting process to ensure processes remain robust and compliant
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial reporting processes
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and validate financial data
  • Present financial information to senior management and external auditors

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven experience in financial reporting within the wealth management or banking sector
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA)
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience of IFRS
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS (IFRS 9)
  • Experience of delivering accurate and timely financial and regulatory reports
  • Experience of UK Taxation is preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience of communicating at all levels including C suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
