Senior Credit Risk Modelling Analyst – Midlands (Hybrid)- up to £55K
A Midlands based Client is looking to grow their team and bring on a Senior Credit Risk Modelling Analyst. This role will be pivotal in bringing strategic and analytical expertise to the team and wider business.
The Senior Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for driving insight on credit risk strategies using varying data approaches; regularly monitoring key trends in the portfolio and the wider market and identifying risks that operate with them; and analysing and presenting reports to stakeholders. This role also supports a variety of risk management activities including credit decisioning and impairment models.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor key trends in the credit performance of new and existing borrowers, identifying risks and opportunities, early warning signs and proposing appropriate actions.
- Monitor key trends in the wider market and identifying the risks that operate within them.
- Ownership of MI projects, developing new MI to enable strategic decision-making ensuring requirements are met and analysis is accurate.
- Develop and maintain credit risk models to assess the probability of default, loss given default, and exposure at default.
Key Requirements
- In depth knowledge of standard and advanced analytical techniques.
- Knowledge and confidence using SQL, Python, SAS and / or R.
- Knowledge of a variety of risk management topics such as IFRS9, IRB, Climate risk, and automated credit decisioning.
- Understanding of Credit Reference Agency data and uses in portfolio monitoring.
- Awareness of the Regulations incl EBA Capital Requirements, Mortgage Credit Directive, FCA Mortgage conduct of business, GDPR and PRA Supervisory Statements.
- In depth understanding of IFRS 9 accounting standard and impairment modelling.
- Strong critical thinking, interpretation, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
