Our client, a long established and highly respected Insurance firm are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operational Resilience Manager to strengthen their resilience framework, enhance their ability to withstand disruptions, and ensure the continuity of critical business operations.

Role Overview:

As the Operational Resilience Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust operational resilience framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact the organisation's ability to deliver essential services. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the company to identify potential threats, assess their potential impact, and develop strategies to minimize disruption and maintain operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an operational resilience framework aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify and assess operational risks, including internal and external threats, emerging risks, and dependencies on critical suppliers and vendors.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing exercises to evaluate the company's resilience to various disruptive events and potential impacts.
  • Conduct business impact analysis (BIA) to assess the potential consequences of operational disruptions on critical business functions, processes, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement resilience strategies, contingency plans, and response procedures to mitigate the impact of disruptions and ensure the continuity of critical operations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate resilience testing and exercise activities, including tabletop exercises, simulations, and crisis scenarios, to validate response plans and enhance preparedness.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions to employees on operational resilience concepts, procedures, and roles and responsibilities.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the company's resilience capabilities and track progress against resilience objectives.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management and relevant stakeholders to communicate resilience status, issues, and recommendations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Proven experience in operational resilience, business continuity planning, or risk management within a complex organization or industry.
  • Strong understanding of resilience frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (e.g. ISO 22301).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Emergency Management would be beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess and manage complex risks and issues.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in resilience planning tools, software, and technologies.
