We are working with a fast-growing, highly regarded wealth management business undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation. As part of this, they are looking to appoint an experienced Training & Competence Manager to support and develop their Financial Planning population. This is a key hire within a collaborative, advisory-led environment, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping adviser capability, maintaining high regulatory standards, and supporting a client-centric culture.
Reporting into senior leadership within the T&C function, you will be responsible for supervising Financial Planners across a regional patch, supporting both trainee and established advisers.
- Acting as first line Supervisor to Financial Planners across Pensions, Investments and Protection
- Supporting Trainee Financial Planners through to Competent Adviser Status (CAS)
- Delivering training interventions, role plays, observations and coaching
- Monitoring ongoing competency of CAS advisers in line with the T&C Scheme
- Working closely with Compliance and Training teams to maintain and develop training materials
This role requires regular travel across the Central region (Nottingham, Birmingham, Norwich, Peterborough) to maintain strong visibility and engagement with advisers.
You will be an experienced T&C professional already operating at this level within a regulated financial services environment.
- Current experience in a Training & Competence / supervisory role
- Proven experience supervising Financial Planners across full advice areas
- Strong understanding of FCA regulation, T&C frameworks, and conduct risk
- Experience coaching and developing advisers to improve performance and competency
- Experience supervising Pension Transfer Specialists (PTS)
- Previous experience as a Financial Adviser
