We’re seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager to provide strategic oversight, insight, and support to senior business leaders across a large, diversified property and financial services group. Acting as a trusted business partner, you’ll build strong relationships across the organisation and help embed a proactive, enterprise-wide risk culture that supports effective, risk-based decision making.
This role requires an experienced operational or enterprise risk professional who can work both independently and collaboratively to provide expert challenge, analysis, and guidance, ensuring that risk is managed effectively across the group.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and facilitate risk identification and assessment activities across business units, ensuring robust controls and effective monitoring.
- Produce clear, concise risk analysis and reporting for senior stakeholders, boards, and committees.
- Build and maintain strong relationships to drive engagement and strengthen the risk management culture.
- Analyse and assess the financial and non-financial impact of identified risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation plans are developed.
- Collaborate closely with Compliance, Data Protection, and Internal Audit to deliver a cohesive approach to risk oversight.
- Support the Head of Enterprise Risk with key initiatives and ongoing enhancement of the ERM framework.
- Stay up to date with regulatory developments and best practice to strengthen overall governance.
You’ll bring experience, confidence, and credibility to operate at a senior level across a large and complex business.
Essential experience:- Strong background in 2nd Line risk management or 1st Line business control environments.
- Proven ability to lead risk assessments and deliver clear, risk-based recommendations.
- Experience developing or implementing enterprise risk frameworks.
- Skilled in producing executive-level reporting and analysis.
- In-depth understanding of risk management tools, techniques, and FCA regulatory requirements (SYSC, Conduct Risk, TCF, UK GDPR).
- Professional qualification such as CIRM, DIRM, or CRISC.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) with strong data interpretation skills.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- High integrity, sound judgement, and collaborative working style.
