MERJE is currently seeking an experienced FCA Compliance Officer for a financial services company based in Manchester. The role is initially being recruited on a fixed term contract for 12 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company complies with FCA regulatory requirements and implementing the company's FCA compliance and risk management framework. They will maintain an in-depth knowledge of current and future regulatory trends and complete horizon scanning activity to identify, make recommendations, and implement any necessary adjustments in the light of changes to the regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities of the FCA Compliance Officer:
- Ensure the business meets all relevant FCA regulatory requirements using regulatory knowledge and expertise.
- Horizon scanning activity.
- Develop and maintain internal policies/processes/procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the documentation of any changes as a result of regulatory updates.
- Provide timely and effective regulatory advice to enable the achievement of key business requirements.
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and updates to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
Required knowledge and experience for the FCA Compliance Officer role:
- Previous experience working within an FCA Compliance role.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK regulatory framework within the financial services and preferably the insurance sector.
- Relatable and positive experience of working in a fast-paced transforming organisation.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance business needs with regulatory requirements.
- Experience in conducting compliance and risk gap analysis, and successfully addressing any identified issues.
The role would benefit from a very flexible working pattern involving 2 days in the office (Greater Manchester) and 3 days from home. Salary is commensurate with experience.
