A leading and rapidly expanding investment business is seeking a Head of Risk to play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing its UK risk strategy. With a large and growing retail client base and ambitious expansion plans, this is a high-impact leadership role where you will influence decision-making, strengthen governance, and help the business navigate an evolving regulatory landscape.
You will operate as a senior, independent voice on risk, partnering closely with business leadership while maintaining robust second-line oversight across a broad range of non-financial risk areas.
Key Responsibilities- Define and deliver a forward-looking risk strategy aligned to business growth and transformation plans.
- Provide independent oversight and challenge across key risk areas, ensuring effective controls and governance frameworks are in place.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering clear and pragmatic risk guidance on strategic initiatives.
- Build and lead a high-performing risk team, fostering a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen risk frameworks, policies, and reporting to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practice.
- Drive risk identification and assessment processes, including emerging risk themes and horizon scanning.

- Significant experience in risk leadership within financial services, ideally in wealth, investments, or digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of non-financial risk frameworks, governance, and regulatory expectations in the UK.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a second-line capacity, balancing independence with commercial awareness.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing at executive level.
- Demonstrated track record of building and leading teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to simplify complex risk topics into clear recommendations.
