I am currently looking for an experienced compliance contractor to join a regulated financial services business and immediately take ownership of key compliance activities.

This is not a role for someone who has spent the last few years solely focused on AML, financial crime, transaction reporting, compliance monitoring, auditing, testing or large-scale transformation programmes.

I am looking for someone who can confidently step into a busy environment, operate with minimal supervision, and take ownership of compliance frameworks, governance, regulatory change and advisory responsibilities from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Own and enhance the compliance framework.
  • Lead regulatory horizon scanning and impact assessments.
  • Translate regulatory developments into practical business actions.
  • Draft, update and maintain policies, standards and procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day compliance advisory support to stakeholders.
  • Support governance forums and committee reporting.
  • Identify framework and control gaps and drive remediation activity.
  • Partner with Risk, Legal and business teams to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded appropriately.
  • Support implementation of regulatory change initiatives across the business.

Essential Experience

You must be able to demonstrate experience of

  • Compliance advisory within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Regulatory change and horizon scanning.
  • Drafting and maintaining compliance policies and procedures.
  • Compliance framework ownership or enhancement.
  • Conducting impact assessments and translating regulations into practical controls.
  • Senior stakeholder engagement and governance reporting.
  • Operating independently within a second-line compliance function.

  • Governance framework enhancement.
  • Markets, trading, fintech, challenger bank or investment services experience.
