We are partnered with a well-known global fintech organisation that provides a cloud-native core banking platform used by banks, lenders, and digital financial institutions. The firm supports clients in launching and managing lending, deposits, payments, and other financial products through a modern API-driven system. They are now looking for an experienced Risk Specialist to join on a 6-month contract to support risk management activities linked to their platform, clients, and internal processes.
Role Overview
The position sits within the wider Risk & Compliance function and will focus on enhancing the organisation's control environment across technology, operational risk, and outsourced service considerations. You'll play a key role in supporting second-line risk oversight across a modern SaaS environment, ensuring risks are clearly identified, monitored, and communicated.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the firm's risk management framework across a fast-moving SaaS/FinTech environment
- Assist with risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across areas such as operational risk, technology risk, outsourcing/third-party risk, and product risk
- Review controls, processes, and documentation to ensure they meet internal standards and regulatory expectations
- Work with technical and non-technical teams to gather information, analyse issues, and support risk reporting
- Contribute to incident reviews, risk registers, and the enhancement of risk governance practices
- Provide practical risk insight to help strengthen the firm's operating model as it scales globally
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a Risk, Operational Risk, Technology Risk, or Risk Advisory role
- Background in financial services, fintech, SaaS, or platform-based environments is beneficial
- Understanding of risk frameworks, control assessments, and governance processes
- Comfortable working with internal stakeholders across engineering, product, operations, and leadership
- Strong analytical approach with the ability to communicate risks clearly and professionally
- Prior exposure to cloud-native platforms or digital product environments is an advantage (not essential)
