Job Description
MERJE is seeking a highly skilled Regional Financial Controller on behalf of our client, one of the most recognisable and respected organisations within the Property and Construction Industry.
Location: Northwest with 4 days office presence
The Role
Reporting to and working closely with the Regional Finance Director, you would be ensuring financial reporting is maintained to a high standard across the region, managing core delivery of the function and ensuring that finance activities are co-ordinated to reflect best practice.
Key Responsibilities of the Regional Financial Controller:
- Oversee financial analysis of monthly / weekly management information in line with agreed timescale
- Monitor regional performance against budgets and forecasts
- Extensive involvement with the budgeting and forecasting process for the region including detailed review with members of the regional and divisional board of directors
- Preparation of budgets, forecast and business plans with continuous monitoring of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to management
- Managing the day-to-day accounting duties of the regional cost centres including forecasting, month end, payroll and purchase ledger activities.
- Liaising with group to deal with adhoc requests
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive growth and efficiency
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise financial performance
Required knowledge and experience for the Regional Financial Controller:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) plus pqe experience
- Extensive experience in financial management within the construction or property sector or any fast-moving sector.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling
- COINS software would be beneficial but not essential
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Proven track record of driving financial performance and process improvements
