Our client, one of the most recognised and respected organisations within the property and construction sector, is seeking to recruit a candidate of suitable calibre to assume the position of Finance Manager for one of their largest operating divisions. Reporting to the Finance Director you will be contributing to the overall success of the Business through supporting the FD in the effective management of the Finance team. This is a highly visible, operational role where your work will directly influence business outcomes, strategy, and growth. What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with the Finance Director to lead, develop, and support the Finance team
  • Ensure the team is well-structured, motivated, and equipped to deliver high-quality outputs
  • Provide leadership cover in the absence of the Finance Director
  • Support monthly forecasting and long-term (3–5 year) business planning
  • Contribute to valuation and surveying meetings, offering constructive financial challenge
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting and support wider financial management activities
  • Oversee payroll and payment processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor and resolve key financial or operational issues impacting the division
  • Ensure systems and forecasts reflect up-to-date operational and sales activity
  • Maintain strong cash management in line with Group policies
  • Support board-level reporting, presentations, and strategic insight
  • Get involved in ad hoc projects across the division

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a senior commercial finance role
  • Ideally experience within housebuilding or a similar sector
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Confident in challenging decisions and acting as a key financial conscience to the business
  • Excellent analytical and IT skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Resilient, decisive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to contribute at senior leadership level
