MERJE is seeking an experienced client facing professional to join a leading international banking institution in London as a Client Relationship Manager. This pivotal role focuses on managing and developing relationships with high-net-worth expat clients, delivering exceptional service whilst identifying growth opportunities within a compliant framework.

The Role

The Client Relationship Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for complex expat banking needs, managing a portfolio of onboarded clients. This position requires driving portfolio growth, ensuring seamless client experiences, and maintaining strict regulatory compliance throughout all interactions and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities of the Client Relationship Manager:

  • Manage and develop relationships with onboarded expat banking clients, acting as their trusted advisor for complex banking requirements.
  • Drive portfolio growth through proactive engagement, identifying cross-sell opportunities for deposits, foreign exchange, international mortgages, and savings products.
  • Conduct welcome calls to new clients, ensuring smooth onboarding and comprehensive understanding of available banking services.
  • Monitor client behaviours and satisfaction levels, resolving queries efficiently whilst coordinating with internal teams including operations and compliance.
  • Ensure all client interactions align with AML, KYC, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and escalating risks appropriately.

Required knowledge and experience for the Client Relationship Manager role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Accounting, with relevant certifications such as CII, CISI, CBI, or CeMAP.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in client relationship management within financial services, wealth management, or international banking.
  • Proven track record supporting high-net-worth or internationally mobile clients with complex cross-border banking needs.
  • Strong technical understanding of banking products including deposits, FX, and international mortgages, with demonstrated ability to identify suitable cross-sell opportunities.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements including AML, KYC, and suitability obligations within financial services.
