Location: Chiswick - Hybrid (min 2 days) with some travel to Birmingham offices as required – Company Induction would be 2 days in Birmingham (with travel expenses paid).

About the Role: Our client, a successful and growing organisation operating within the education and training sector, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently while contributing to the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage supplier payment runs
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
  • Respond to supplier queries professionally and efficiently
  • Assist with the preparation and issuing of customer invoices
  • Support credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances
  • Maintain accurate customer records within the finance system
  • Post journals and maintain financial records
  • Assist with month-end accruals and prepayments
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure transactions are correctly coded and recorded
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team
  • Assist with audit requests and financial documentation
  • Support process improvement initiatives and financial controls

About You:

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping position
  • AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT (or equivalent) would be preferred but not mandatory and study support is also on offer
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to work
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Exposure to month-end processes and reconciliations
