Job Description
We’re exclusively partnered with a fast-growing and forward-thinking financial services provider that has been expanding significantly across the UK. As part of their continued growth, they’re now looking to appoint a Compliance Officer to help shape and strengthen the business’s governance and risk culture.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a compliance professional with general insurance experience to take on meaningful responsibility within a well-established but evolving firm. You’ll play a key part in maintaining robust regulatory standards and working collaboratively across the business to embed good practice.
*Please note travel to the North West (UK) office is required twice a month as part of the working arrangement.*
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and monitor a risk-based compliance framework that aligns with the firm’s wider governance objectives.
- Manage the Compliance Monitoring activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Act as an internal advisor to business functions, providing practical, risk-aware compliance guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance interactions and decisions.
- Carry out thematic reviews and oversee outsourced provider compliance.
- Review products, services, and client-facing materials to ensure they meet regulatory expectations.
- Help drive a culture that promotes innovation while maintaining regulatory integrity.
- Monitor and maintain policies, procedures, and training materials across the organisation.
- Contribute to compliance MI and reporting for senior leadership and governance committees.
- Support first-line colleagues on conduct and regulatory matters, fostering a proactive approach to risk.
Key Requirements:
- Prior compliance experience within a general insurance or related financial services environment.
- Strong working knowledge of FCA rules, particularly those relevant to conduct and ICOBS.
- Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Confident reviewing and interpreting regulatory guidance and advising operational teams.
