Collections Agent

Up to £31k 

Location: Manchester, Hybrid Role – 2 days per week in office

MERJE is seeking a Collections Agent for a leading credit card company in the UK financial sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing collections department, supporting customers with various financial situations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in a customer-facing role within a financial institution.

This innovative UK-based consumer finance business specialises in digital credit cards and consumer finance solutions. The company aims to redefine the consumer finance experience, focusing on simplicity, enjoyment, and customer control. Their mission is to become the UK's Digital Lender of Choice.

The Role

As a Collections Agent, you'll communicate with customers regarding arrears, overlimit situations, persistent debt, and vulnerable customer support. Working in a multi-channel contact environment, you'll utilise various communication methods while adhering to regulatory standards and meeting performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support customers via multiple contact channels (chat, telephone, emails, written correspondence)
  • Agree on sustainable and affordable payment solutions
  • Tailor approaches for vulnerable customers
  • Manage various workloads and processes across the customer journey
  • Maintain accurate customer data and reporting

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in a customer-facing role
  • Experience working with call centre technologies (diallers, customer portals)
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of financial regulations (desirable)
  • Experience in collections within a financial institution (preferred)
