MERITUS are excited to be partnered with a growing Technical Consultancy that requires an experienced Manual Test Engineer to support one of their public sector clients on a 6 month contract basis. This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on testing, takes pride in finding issues early, and is comfortable working in secure, structured environments.
You’ll be part of a collaborative delivery team, working closely with developers, product owners, and other testers to make sure releases meet functional and quality expectations. While the focus is firmly on manual testing, there may be opportunities to support existing automation where relevant.
The Role requires candidates to hold SC & NPPV3 clearances.
Main Responsibilities:- Carry out manual testing across new features and existing functionality, including functional, regression, integration, and UAT.
- Create and maintain clear, well-structured test cases and test plans based on requirements and user stories.
- Identify, document, and track defects, working with developers to support timely fixes.
- Use Azure DevOps (or similar tools) to manage test activity, defects, and reporting.
- Work closely with the wider delivery team to provide feedback, highlight risks, and support quality throughout the SDLC.
- Strong experience in a manual testing role within software delivery teams.
- Solid understanding of testing processes and methodologies, including regression and UAT.
- Experience writing and executing test cases and producing clear defect reports.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or comparable test and defect management tools.
- Confident communicator who can work independently and as part of a team.
