MERITUS are recruiting for a Fabricator / Welder to join our client within the Systems Integration sphere to support clients across Aerospace, Manufacturing, FMCG and Agriculture.

You'll be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components, working from detailed engineering drawings to produce high-quality parts to tight tolerances. The role involves both fabrication and welding activities, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings to manufacture sheet metal components.
  • Carry out sheet metal forming and bending, including correct bend allowance calculations.
  • Perform MIG welding (and TIG or spot welding where required).
  • Manufacture components to tight dimensional tolerances.
  • Ensure all fabricated parts meet required quality standards with minimal rework.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Support wider production and fabrication activities as required by the Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.
About You

We're looking for a skilled fabricator with strong hands-on experience in sheet metal work and welding. You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a fabrication or sheet metal environment.
  • Strong MIG welding experience (TIG/spot welding beneficial).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
  • Good understanding of bend allowances, tolerances and material behaviour.
  • Ability to work accurately to tight specifications.
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent) desirable.
