Meritus Talent are working with one of Europe’s leading aerospace & defence organisations for the recruitment of a Software Test Engineer to join on a contract basis in their Portsmouth office. The role is paying £50 per hour via an Umbrella company, for an initial 12 Month period.
Software Test Engineer – Agile Testing | Contract | SC Clearance Required
We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong experience in test automation and agile environments. You will be part of a collaborative scrum team, contributing across the full development lifecycle on critical projects within the Satellite Communications domain.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute manual and automated tests using Java, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, and Postman (or similar tools)
- Collaborate with the team to design, implement and test features for a new product
- Estimate tasks as part of sprint planning, contributing to an agile development process
- Interpret Model-Based Systems Engineering diagrams to support testing activities
- Work with GIT and Jira to manage test documentation and development tasks
- Conduct exploratory testing within a REST architecture
- Generate clear and accurate documentation in line with project standards
- Support test readiness reviews and contribute to test boards as guided by the Test Lead
- Experience with test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium
- Familiarity with testing RESTful APIs using Postman or similar tools
- Solid understanding of agile development methodologies
- Strong attention to detail and good documentation practices
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Comfortable engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working with Model-Based Systems Engineering
- Exposure to regulated or high-compliance environments
Due to the nature of the work, some on-site presence each week will be required. The exact balance of office time will depend on individual project and team needs. Candidates must be eligible for, or already hold, active SC clearance.
