MERITUS are recruiting for a Quality Conformance Engineer to join our client on an initial 12 month basis to support Aerospace projects from Broughton.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the our client's Quality Development Programmes & Major Industrial Projects team. This role provides exposure to Project Management, APQP deployment, Quality Standards, Industrial System Development, and Operational Quality, supporting the resolution of complex quality issues and driving continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
The role focuses on improving process performance, reliability, and repeatability, ensuring quality is embedded at initial design, through industrialisation, and into serial production, with strong emphasis on prevention, surveillance, inspection, and adherence.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure full quality industrialisation of Major Mods, STEP Mods, Incremental and Full Developments, and Major Industrial Transfers to enable stable serial manufacture and rate ramp-up.
- Lead and prioritise Production Organisation Approval (POA) activities to maintain the highest levels of product safety.
- Provide quality input into risk, planning, multifunctional, and stakeholder reviews.
- Deploy APQP methodology and applicable quality standards.
- Support and facilitate FMEA activities (Design, Process, and Machine).
- Create, maintain, and update Control Plans (CPs) to reflect design and process changes.
- Plan and execute Production Process Verification (PPV) to validate manufacturing routings.
- Forecast Cost of Non-Quality (CoNQ) and support mitigation actions.
- Provide lineside quality support during test campaigns, HoV manufacturing, and Start of Production (SoP) phases.
- Support Key Characteristics (KC) and Critical to Item (CTI) cascade from Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Support APQP deliverables including Decision Trees (DT), Applicability Matrices (AM), and Key Business Deliverables (KBD) as both owner and assessor.
