MERITUS are excited to be partnered with a growing Engineering and Automation company looking to expand their Engineering team. They are seeking a Test & Validation Technician to support the testing, commissioning, and validation of advanced automation systems, both in-house and at worldwide customer locations.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role ideal for an electrically biased technician or engineer with strong fault-finding skills, experience with PLCs and robotics, and a passion for working with complex automated systems. The role offers extensive international travel, long-term career development, and exposure to cutting-edge industrial automation and OEM equipment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Test, validate, commission, and inspect automation systems and equipment at company facilities and worldwide customer sites
  • Carry out system software commissioning, fault finding, diagnostics, and rectification across PLC, robotic, and industrial control systems
  • Install, configure, and support system software and industrial PCs, including system-wide testing and validation
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support, customer training, and system servicing activities
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation including test plans, procedures, training materials, and updated engineering drawings
Required Skills:
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
  • Hands-on experience building, testing, commissioning, or servicing electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience with PLCs, industrial automation, robotics, or control systems
  • Proven fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills in a technical environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally and represent the business professionally at customer sites
